YES TO SEA TOURISM FORUM 2023 – SPEAKERS

As for the panel discussion that will take place at «ΥΕS to SEApping Forum 2023», representatives of shipping organization and institutions will be invited so that the young participants of Northern Greece can gain a global view of the breadth of the industry and the opportunities that shipping offers across its entire spectrum. Coordinator of the panel will be Danae Bezantakou, CEO of Navigator Shipping Consultants and concept-founder of YES Forum, while the speakers invited so far are as follows:

George Pateras

Deputy Chairman – Contships Management, President – Hellenic Chamber of Shipping

George D. Pateras, born in London, UK and the father of 3 adult children, is the Deputy Chairman, Contships Management Inc.
and since 2016 the Chairman of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping.

He Studied Engineering and Economics and holds a BSc in Marine Engineering from Newcastle University, MS in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture from MIT and a
PhD from Plymouth University.

He is a Board member of the Hellenic War Risks Association and the Bahamas Shipowners Association, Chairman of the Hellenic Shipping War Risks Insurance S.A., Vice Chairman, NATO, PBOS now TG(OS) (2000-) and permanent advisor (AMSCC) of the Hellenic Ministry of Defense.
Dr. Pateras has also served as the Chairman of the Bahamas Shipowners’ Association (2011-2015) and as a Board member of the Hellenic Seamen’s Pension Fund (1984- 1993), Olympic Aviation (1991-1993), the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping (1986-2015), the Union of Greek Shipowners (1983-2004), HELMEPA (1996-1998), the BSA representative on International Chamber of Shipping (2011-2015) and Managing Director of Aegeus Shipping S.A. (1981-2018)

Costis J. Frangoulis is a Greek entrepreneur born in Athens, Greece and a father of two daughters, Elli and Athena.

He holds a B.A from the University of Richmond, U.K in Economics and Business Administration since 1988.

He is the Founder, President and CEO of Franman Group which he formed in May 1991. For 32 years, Franman has been providing a wide range of services to the shipping industry, focused on shipbuilding equipment, spare parts, ship repairs and service, maritime security, cyber security and consulting.

In year 1996, he founded Imperium Shipmanagement SA which managed and owned 5 handysize bulk carriers. After a decade and while the Dry Cargo market was booming, he decided to exit the market by taking advantage of the very high asset values at the time.

Mr. Frangoulis is the President of the International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus, 2nd Vice President of the International Propeller Club of the United States, an Ambassador of the Sailors’ Society in Greece, a non-executive member of the board of Sfakianakis Group, a member of the Advisory Board of the Council for International Relations – Greece (CfIR-GR) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Academic Maritime Sector of the BCA College.

Christina is CEO of KEFI S.A. (www.kefitours.gr), a General Tourism and Conferences-Exhibitions Limited Liability Company and Co-CEO of NAVIGATOR SHIPPING CONSULTANTS (www.navigatorltd.gr) as well as of FILOXENIA HELLAS AXTEE (MATILDA Hotel www.matildahotel.gr).

She holds a Bachelor of International, European and Area Studies of Panteion University and she has graduated from the ANT1 School of Journalism.

Moreover, she holds an MA Degree of International Politics & Human Rights from CITY UNIVERSITY in London.

Together with her three sisters they manage the family businesses and continue the progress of the Companies with love and passion.

She is co-founder of Young Executives Shipping (YES) FORUM. She is General Curator of the BoD of the Hellenic Association of Tourism & Travel Agencies (HATTA), member of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA), and member of the Audit Committee of the Non-Profit Association for the Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurship (iforU).

She loves sports and reading all kinds of books.
She is married and has a son, Jason, age 9.

I have over 40 years in Maritime industry. Since 1977 I have been working in Golden Union Shipping Group.

In 1984 was appointed as Purchasing Manager. In 1989 was appointed to set up and develop Golden Cargo as Managing Director.

Jan 2018 elected 2nd Vice President at Piraeus Chamber of Commerce & Industry. (Responsible for Shipping and Logistics) Active Propeller Club member and Chios Marine Club board member.

Maria Deligianni

Maria Deligianni is National Director, Eastern Mediterranean at Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) based in Athens, Greece. She joined CLIA in March 2018 and is responsible for government and public affairs issues in the region.

Maria has been working in the shipping industry since 2012. Before joining CLIA, she worked for the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) in Brussels as a Senior Advocacy and Policy Advisor on maritime safety, environmental and offshore shipping issues. Previously she spent time at the European Commission’s Director General Mobility and Transport Directorate in Brussels as well as SQE Marine Group and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC Greece) in Piraeus and Athens.

She holds an executive Master in Maritime Science (MSc) degree from the University of Ghent in Belgium as well as an MSc degree in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Athens.

I was born in a family with an Olympic Sailing Champion George Zaimis and I was always surrounded from yachties.

My yachting carrier started as an assistant in a Yachting Association and further on in the family business – A1 Yachting.

I was soon interested to improve the relevant Laws and place suggestions to the involved Ministries, which drove me to participate as a Board Member in the Private Yacht’s Association in which I am now the President, later I was elected in the Board of Piraeus Chamber of Trade and Commerce and recently as a Vice President in the Global Committee of ECPY locally named as HCPY.

My recent professional title since 2022, is Business Development Director to A1 Yachting’s Partner BWA Yachting, a Leader in the Yachting industry based in 27 countries.

I personally wish and working to see Greece as the Global Yachting Leader and Home Port.

Mr. Nikolaos Mavrikos, born in Port-Said Egypt, is married and father of 2 children. Graduated (E. M. C. S) of the Department of Management–Business Administration.

He possesses a Certificate of Customs Adequacy, Certified for Company Law and GEMI. from the National Centre of Public Administration and Government (EKDDA). He has a 30-year professional experience in the relevant industry branch. President and Managing Director of the Company ” MAVRIKOS IMPORTS SA”. The company is a 3rd generation commercial with main object the supply of ship food-supply, the sale of soft drinks, alcoholic products in the interior market (taxed sales). At the same time the company has for 30 years intense export activity and in the last 2 years has developed services for 3-PL Logistics and customs advice.
