The Embassy and General Consulate of Panama in Greece under the new Diplomatic mission of the Ambassador and General Consul, H.E. Mrs. Julie Lymberopulos, is situated in Piraeus, the heart of the Greek Shipping Industry. It is the only diplomatic representation in Greece with authorization to issue official documents on behalf of the Panamanian Government and the Panama Merchant Marine Administration, as part of a global network of 53 Consular Offices and 13 International Technical Offices (Segumar). The General Consulate of Panama in Greece is a One–Stop Office providing maritime services through its departments which cover all areas of Shipping, Corporate, Technical Services and Crew.
In the Shipping and Corporate Department, our highly experienced staff have thorough knowledge of the shipping market and provide personalized consulting and tailor-made solutions to our clients in all aspects of vessels provisional and permanent registration, mortgage registration and discharge, issuance of Panamanian company documents and special vessels registration for delivery voyage.
Our Segumar – Piraeus International Technical Office since 2010 is fully authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority to evaluate, take decisions on Panamanian Flag Vessel technical matters and to issue all Flag vessel technical certificates. Its experienced Technical Staff with vast knowledge of all IMO International Regulations and Panama Maritime National and International regulations, are available to provide onboard service and consultation, if necessary, in Greek ports or within the region. The Seafarers Operations Department manned with experienced personnel with knowledge of MLC, ILO, STCW provides fast and efficient customer service with evaluation of proper documentation, based on current implemented Conventions and Maritime regulations (MLC, ILO, STCW). Finally, the Seafarers Regional Documentation Office approves and issues permanent Seamen’s books and title endorsements for crew while its highly experienced technical Officers provide consultancy services in Greece and worldwide
