Eurobulk Ltd (http://www.eurobulk.gr/) was established in 1994 by Aristides J. Pittas and his brothers with the intention to engage in the management of ocean-going vessels.
This company represents the continuation of the presence in Shipping of the Pittas family which started in the 1870’s and survived two world wars before being expressed in partnerships with the Caroussis family in Chios Navigation Ltd. of London between 1960-1990 and with Petros Pappas in Oceanbulk Maritime S.A. between 1991-1994.
Eurobulk has placed the emphasis of its operations on quality and environmental management and has demonstrated its commitment to Safe Management by being among the first shipping companies to obtain ISM accreditation in January 1997 as well as ISO 9001 (1997) and ISO 14001 (2013).
The company is presently providing commercial, operational and technical services to NASDAQ-listed Euroseas Ltd. (www.euroseas.gr) Eurodry Ltd (www.eurodry.gr) and their ship-owning subsidiaries and affiliated companies. The company also currently manages fifteen Pittas’ controlled containerships and nine bulk carriers (total 24 vessels), Taking advantage of its technical expertise and good market reputation, Eurobulk Ltd. and its affiliates have grown significantly but conservatively during the past two decades since their establishment. Based on the same principles they still seek to expand their operations even further. In that respect Eurobulk aims to conduct business with first class companies and develop close business relationships with them in their respective fields. The list of commercial entities with whom the company has established links includes CMA-CGM, A.P. Moeller-Maersk, MSC, COSCO, Hapag Lloyd, Evergreen, ZIM, Seacon, Cargill, ADMI, Cofco Agri, ECTP, Norden, Klaveness, Bunge, Oldendorff, K-Line, PacBasin, Quadra, etc.
The group employs a staff of about 100 highly educated and skilled professionals ashore and about 1,100 sea staff.
